Hello everyone! I’m M.M. Shelley and I would like to give a BIG thanks to The Wytch’s Mirror, for inviting me onto the blog today so that I can share my latest book with you!
Mishap & Chaos
It’s about twin Latina girls, Grasiella & Tatiana who are hated and feared by the magical race to which they belong.
Here is an excerpt from my book:
Grasiella had had enough for the moment. She headed for the main room of the Doghouse where she could hear voices and laughing as she moved along the hallway. Coming into view of the front room she could see several members of the staff cleaning tables and one was sweeping the floor. One worker balled up a cleaning cloth and hurled it across the room at the guy holding the broom. It hit him squarely on the back he only laughed, scooped it up and pocketed it in his pants.
A woman standing behind the bar gave a loud whistle drawing everyone's attention to her, her eyes shot over to Grasiella in warning. Grasiella noticed the odd stares they gave her, but pretended not to notice. She gave a friendly smile hoping to break the tension that now circled the room.
Not one of them returned her smile. Their friendly banter with one another broke up and one by one they made their exit.
Grasiella was not alone in the empty room for long. Loud footsteps broke through the silence. At the doorway was a man who looked very much out of place. He made his way forward and stopped in the middle of the room his hands moving to his pants pockets. His hair was dark and his skin was very pale. His gray eyes settled uncomfortably on her.
“The club's not open,” she said to him hoping he would leave.
He gave her an amused smile that looked rather more deadly then friendly. “I can see that. The door was open. Is it possible to get a drink? Perhaps a drink of water would not be too much trouble?” He asked.
“Well I’m not part of the staff.” He seemed other worldly to her. His energy was different. “Maybe I can get you a bottle of water.” She went behind the bar in order to create space between them and so that she could use the bar as a blocker. Grasiella tossed the bottle at him not caring if he caught it or not.
“Thank you,” He cleared his throat before taking a sip of water.
To Grasiella it seemed as if he was testing it like a fine wine. He must not have found it to his liking because he made a face followed by smacking his lips together in distaste.
He cleared his throat once more before saying, “I noticed the name on the billboard outside, The Doghouse, and I thought it was amusing. I had to come inside and take a look.”
