My View and Review:
Science fiction fans come closer, the dead are certainly rising to the occasion! WOW! My head is spinning! John Corwin has a great writing style with humor at times, and yes even when the world is all dead, there are some funny situations too! This paranormal does have some romance even with dead people laying around and their ghosts walking freely, but no way no how can one just label this as a paranormal romance. 'The Next Thing I Knew' is so much more than just giving it a one genre label, and John Corwin pulls it all together really well and ordered. So zip up 'The Next Thing I knew' as a Sci Fi, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, that is chilling, thrilling, surprising, and a very original take on something wonderful to add to your reading list.
I love zombies and I thought this book was going to be about zombies. The dead that we are talking about here are not zombies after all but do not let that disappoint. The dead here are dead and they have their lifeless bodies laying around to prove it. However, we are still talking about ghosts. Weird and a ton of fun for paranormal lovers. John Corwin's approach to this paranormal fantasy is a unique and winning approach. I was hooked right from the very beginning and although there is a mere mention of aliens in the first chapter, follow through to find out how that thought does turn out. Surprise!
